Friends
of Davey and Goliath Gathering - Washington
A Friends
of Davey and Goliath fundraiser took place on October 26, 2003
in Ingram Hall at Pacific Lutheran University, located in Tacoma,
WA. The fundraiser event included a screening of the documentary, "Oh
Davey! History of the 'Davey and Goliath' Television Series."
Greg Schieferstein, Barbara Andrews and Eric Shafer met SW
Washington Synod communicator Rachel Pritchett before worshipping at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Tacoma (Parkland). The pastor introduced
the group and allowed Eric to make a pitch for the "Oh Davey!"
screening at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) later that afternoon.
The screening had only 12 present. However, our presence did get
good local media coverage and, hopefully, planted some seeds for
future Davey support. The Tacoma "News Tribune" noted the
documentary screening at PLU in their Saturday, October 25, 2003
edition. Read more about the documentary. |
