Gathering
of Friends of Davey and Goliath
- Chicago,
IL
The gathering took place on Friday,
May 30, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the Augsburg Fortress bookstore at
8765 West Higgins Road, Chicago, near the O'Hare Marriott Hotel. View photos from the event.
The reception provided people with a photo
opportunity with Davey and Goliath, the best selection of Davey
and Goliath products for purchase, updates
on plans for Davey and Goliath's return to broadcast television
later this year, a chance to mingle with other supporters over
hors d'oeuvres and much more. We heard from some people how Davey and
Goliath influenced their life.
Richard
Sutcliffe, one of the founders of the original Davey and
Goliath television series, was with us for the reception.
Sutcliffe was the executive producer of the program when he was
the director of the PRT (Press Radio and Television) Department
for the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA) and the Lutheran
Church in America (LCA).
The Friends of Davey and Goliath
gathering gave Sutcliffe a chance to see how the project he
started and nurtured is being revived for a whole new generation
of children.
